Two Sundays ago my friend K, who has been trying to find ways to be featured on this blog, ( :P ) suggested we make a trip down to The Rocks for the Aroma Festival — an annual fest of coffee, chocolate, tea and spice. Being the caffeine-head that I am, I couldn’t refuse. Though I was a little surprised at small presence coffee made at the festival, the thing was enormous! Joining hands with the weekly Rocks markets, it seemingly sprawled across all the olde streets and alleys of the beautiful harbourside village. K was keen to step out of the world of mochas, and The Malaysian had a headache, so our first stop was the Delano Coffee stall (mostly because it was the first stall we saw). $2 samples including cold-drip can’t be beat! Feeling caffeinated, we starting exploring the area, sampling the delicious Salted Caramel Cupcake from Sparkle Cupcakery, along with gozleme, mulled wine, and fresh-brewed whole-spice Chai.
