Pork Bánh Mì – $5
Recently at work I got in the lift with two ladies, one of whom was about to partake in her first ever “Pork Roll” (Australianism of bánh mì).
“Everybody gets them. They must be really good.” she said to her friend. “I just don’t know how I feel about the coriander.”
Oh my friend, if you knew about the pink mystery meat and liver pate, that coriander would be the least of your worries.
If you’re in Parramatta around lunchtime, check out Xcel Roll, the local business district favourite – great selection, fresh viet rolls made on site, amazingly friendly service.

I LOVE this place…is it only newly opened? And I noticed ont their business card that the have a store in Mascot…is it ‘the’ store that everyone raves about I wonder?
i love banh mi thit, i always ask for an extra layer of pate!!!!
Have you ever tried Banh Mi thit at Cabramatta.. it use to me $2.50… stupid inflation :(
banh mi thit <3. its like viet subway.. only cheaper and unhealthy!
heyo Dolly — yeh first time I had banh mi it was in Cabra! Probably same place you’re speaking of. Pate is a mind-game for me — Im not a fan of…”insides.”
Haha I love pork rolls! Always wondered what the colorful ‘meat’ consisted of :D
muppy — haah! yeah. I often have a hard time with the pate to be honest — but for some reason the mystery meat doesnt bother me!
